We are looking for a geek with a very strong analytical and technical mind, a knack for understanding processes and picking up new technologies. Someone who can start from the word "go", work without supervision and self-learn.

Someone who believes in the power of technology to simplify processes and revolutionize the lives of people who use it.

We work with poor communities to track their health and demographic status in order to co-develop solutions for improved health. Data will be collected on tablet devices such as the iPad by frontline health workers on a cloud platform such as salesforce.com. Solutions will be GIS-enabled.

You will work very closely with our field teams in order to understand their processes, map requirements, develop and test solutions. You can also spend time in the community and develop fresh ideas on how technology can empower their lives in fresh ways.

Ours is a very unstructured workplace. It is not the usual IT setup where everything is modular and it functions like an assembly line. An analytical thinker with multiple skill sets who can span the entire cycle of software development will be more compatible with our kind of work.

Community Empowerment Lab is being set up as a Section 25 Non-Profit Company. It is an innovation hub for co-developing solutions "with" communities, rather than "for" them. Ours is an interdisciplinary team consisting of scientists, social scientists, technologists, social workers, and the like.
